Compliments from Us:

  • Easy to assemble, quick to start up
  • Simple to clean and set it and forget it.
  • The large cooking space
  • The giant hopper
  • First-Time User Friendly

I have been grilling for a while now, and I must say, it’s been a great experience. I had no trouble putting it together, and all you have to do to use it is press a button. What amazed me was how much food it could cook at once. It worked great as a pizza oven too! I  also appreciate the convenience of setting the temperature and being able to “set it and forget it,” The best part is the giant hopper; I can do long smokes overnight without worrying about adding more pellets.

Overall Performance: Despite some temperature fluctuations, we report that the food comes out great, with many highlighting the consistent quality of smoked meats. I am very satisfied with the temperature control and the quality of the unit.

Negative comments from us:

  • Delivery and Assembly Issues
  • Temperature Fluctuations
  • Not Weatherproof
  • Quality of Materials (screws and bolts)

On the downside, when my grill finally arrived, the box was pretty beat up, and there were a few scratches on the grill itself. In some cases, some owners report that the products are missing some screws, which made things a little difficult because they had to go get some.

Also, I didn’t realize the grill wasn’t weatherproof. After a surprise rain, water got into the grill and messed up the pellets, jamming the auger. It’s been a pain trying to clean it out.

It seems like the temperature goes up and down a bit, but it hasn’t affected my cooking yet. I’ve cooked chicken and pork butts, and everything turned out great. I heard that there’s a blanket that can help keep the temperature steady, which sounds like something I might look into.

Additionally, a user mentioned that smoking on a pellet grill doesn’t impart as much flavor as traditional charcoal smoking, suggesting it might be better suited for those transitioning from gas grills.

Compliments from Us:

  • Sturdy and well-built design
  • Quick Customer Service
  • Wide range of grill functions
  • Bluetooth Monitoring

I bought this grill because I had heard so many good things about it, and I’m glad I did. It was easy to put together, and I could tell right away that it was made to last. After a tiny problem with the temperature probe not connecting right, but a quick call to Pit Boss customer service sorted it out fast.

I love the Bluetooth feature because it lets me keep an eye on the cooking temperature without having to stand right next to the grill. I’ve already tried cooking a bunch of different things on it, like chicken, burgers, and even a whole chicken stuffed carrot.

Negative comments from Us:

  • Fast Pellet Consumption
  • Durability Issues
  • Technical Problems( Error codes and malfunctioning)
  • Hopper Capacity

This model also has some downsides. It goes through pellets pretty quickly, which means I’m refilling the hopper more often than I’d like and vacuuming out the burn can every few uses. It would be ideal if the hopper were larger. It’s meant to hold five pounds of pellets, but I have to fill it up several times a day, especially when I’m cooking for a long time.

Select your preferred cooking styles with the digital control board & standard flame broiler. Set it & forget it, or slide the plate & sear it over an open flame.

Compliments from Us:

  • Easy Clean-Up
  • Good Pellets Usage
  • Thick steel and Good finish
  • Nice Smoky Flavor

I have to start with the flavor because that’s the whole point of a smoker, right? If you’re used to the strong, smokey flavor of an old-fashioned smoker, you might not really like the taste of this pellet smoker. One thing I’ve learned is that the pellets you use really make a difference.

For instance, I once purchased some that were marked “mesquite,” but the aroma of smoke immediately alerted me that something was wrong. They were really a mix of oak and mesquite, it turned out. It seems that some pellet manufacturers are using lesser woods, which can alter the taste.

Now, onto the temperature control, which is honestly where this smoker shines. But with this pellet smoker, I just set the temperature, and it takes care of the rest. I tried my usual brisket method on it, and while it didn’t turn out exactly the same, it was still delicious and took way less time.

Negative comments from Us:

  • Rusting out
  • The Temperature Probe And Controller

Oh yeah, there were a couple of things that didn’t quite hit the mark for me. My Pro Series started rusting out in the firebox in less than two years, which led to some annoying and even dangerous back-burning.

Then the ignitor gave out around the same time, and I’ve been having a tough time with the temperature probe and the controller not adjusting well for temperature swings. Despite these issues, I still find myself using it a lot. It’s just so easy to fire up and use, and I love not having to check it constantly.

I was able to save some time and energy, which is great, because the front shelf is built in and the cooking area is so big. The hopper’s size is a standout feature, holding more pellets and needing less refilling compared to other grills.Additionally, this large grill can also achieving those flawless sear marks.

Negative comments from Us:

  • Top Rack Design:
  • Temperature Swing

Even so, I’ve had to change the temperature settings every once in a while. For some, it’s hard to keep the temperature steady. The swing can be 25 to 50 degrees off, but it seems manageable once you learn how to calculate for these differences. The top rack’s design is a bit of a letdown. It’s too close to the bottom rack, making it hard to reach food placed at the back without moving everything around.

I’ve gotten pretty good at making quick changes, but it doesn’t always stay where I want it. But the top rack design is a bit of a bummer because it’s hard to get food from the back. Also, it’s not always easy to get in touch with customer service.

Compliments from Us:

  • Dual Meat Thermometers
  • Smoke Control
  • Cold-Smoking Capability
  • Large Pellet Hopper

On a personal note, the ability to adjust smoke levels seems especially appealing. It provides the opportunity to experiment with different intensities for various foods. I’ve cooked up brisket, turkey, salmon, steaks, burgers, and even cold smoked cheese, and everything has come out tasting amazing.

What I really appreciate is having two meat thermometers, so I can keep track of different foods at the same time, and being able to adjust how smoky the flavor is.

Negative comments from Us:

  • Delivery and Assembly
  • Rust On The Flame Broiler

For those who want to cook right immediately, the lengthy delivery time and assembly might turn away customers. In our fast-paced world where people want things to happen quickly, logistical issues may be unpleasant.

Moreover, lower temperatures, larger cooking chambers, and higher cooking temperatures consume more pellets, therefore buyers should be aware. Despite the few challenges, many users really happy with their purchase and look forward to many more delicious meals.

FINAL THOUGHTS

After diving deep into the world of Pit Boss Pellet Grills, exploring various models, and hearing what users have to say, I’ve got to say.  Pit Boss really does make some standout grills that can turn anyone into a backyard BBQ hero.

I am truly impressed by how well and how much Pit Boss Pellet Grills can do. Yes, they do have some issues, like how to put them together and manage the pellets, but the taste and versatility make up for it. Looking ahead to 2024, if you’re in the market for a pellet grill, Pit Boss offers some solid options that cater to a wide range of cooking styles and preferences.
